Greetings

On the occasion of the 15th Kyoto Yakimono Week – WAN wan ONE, I am pleased to offer my greetings.

This event has grown from the shared commitment of makers, kiln owners, merchants, and art professionals to carry forward the traditions of Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki. I am deeply grateful for the support that has sustained it over many years.

We also take great pride in the members of the Gojozaka & Chawanzaka Network—kiln owners, ceramic artists, merchants, and art professionals—who together support Kyoto’s ceramic culture.

With the participation of international guests, this year’s edition further develops as a space for global exchange. Continuing last year’s welcome to art professionals from overseas, we will also hold commemorative lectures and film screenings to mark this anniversary.

While rooted in tradition, together with the generations who will shape a new era, we remain committed to presenting the living value of Kyoto’s ceramic culture to audiences in Japan and around the world.
